The suicide rate for police officers is three times the number of line of duty deaths. Spouses and families left behind often can’t afford the funeral or next month’s groceries; many only receive a final paycheck, leaving them devastated emotionally and financially. Suffering families of officers deserve better.

This national law enforcement crisis is unknown to most Americans, therefore the need goes unmet. Our nation’s military non-profits, such as the amazing Wounded Warriors Project, raise over $1 billion combined per year to make sure their men and women in uniform are taken care of. Various law enforcement related charities together raise close to $25 million per year, a small fraction of what it takes to meet the needs of the 1 million police officers in our country. There has been no Wounded Warriors-type program for the men and women in blue who serve and protect us…until now.

Cover Now is the first national charity focused on meeting the massive emergency needs of catastrophic on duty injuries, and families of officers who commit suicide. Together, we can take care of police officers and their families when they need it most—assisting with financial, mental and physical wellness to restore them to a healthy and productive life. The brave men and women in uniform have our backs every hour of every day. It’s time we have theirs.

Each officer’s situation is unique, so when our team is contacted about a case, we communicate directly with the officer and family. We immediately begin the process of assisting with emergency needs, and remain in communication to establish potential ongoing care requirements. We also utilize other public and private resources to assist in preventative and long-term concerns to keep the recipients supported for years to come.
