Mentally healthy cops make better cops.

Cover Now provides confidential mental health therapy and financial support to law enforcement officers and their families who have suffered job related trauma.

OUR WORK

Law-enforcement officers experience 20 times more traumatic events than the average person, often leading to mental health trauma.

Most law enforcement officers will not reach out through their own department or their medical provider when they are suffering mentally for fear of losing their job and  being stigmatized.

The struggle with post-traumatic stress or mental health trauma can lead to abuse of power, negative interactions with the public and poor decision making.

These issues have culminated to a silent epidemic of 400 to 500 suicides annually among law enforcement officers and has become the number one cause of death in law enforcement.

For the few officers that do reach out, they are usually burdened with covering their own copayments for mental health services, taking resources away from their personal and family lives.

Many departments lack the resources to provide adequate mental health support to their law enforcement officers.

We believe that when police officers are mentally healthy they are more effective in their roles. By offering confidential trauma therapy to officers struggling with Post Traumatic Stress and mental health issues and offering financial relief to law enforcement officers and their families affected by officer trauma and suicide, as well as to officers catastrophically injured in the line of duty, we enable these officers and blue families to rebuild their lives and support injured officers in returning to their vital work of protecting our communities.

“When I was hit by a drunk driver while on duty, the insurance company would not pay for my basic rehab needs. Cover Now kept me going, and now I am up walking again.”

THE NEED

Those Who Keep Us Safe Are Suffering In Silence….

Approximately 300-400 police officers per year commit suicide. Thousands more suffer catastrophic injury in the line of duty and are turned over to insurance companies, often to be denied needs.

Make An Impact
